Statement Scent: Black Orchid by Tom Ford

Tom Ford fragrances: Love them or smell them — but let's be honest, you can't hate a Tom Ford fragrance. That said, it’ll come as no surprise to fragrance fans that this easily scoops the G.O.A.T. title. 

Yep, I've been busy trying out all of the wonderful new fragrances to take the fragrance community by storm. However, there's no better pastime than trying out (again) some of the coolest timeless perfumes.

As finding my signature fragrance is a true journey, when choosing a perfume, I want to explore the deepest notes and their complexity.

Black Orchid marries a burst of a range of notes, from truffle to incense, from bergamot to amber and jasmine. It is warm, alluring, dark and incredibly potent, perfect for those who want to make a statement.

And although I appreciate the longevity of this scent, I would highly suggest you to go easy on the trigger. It will linger on your skin throughout the night (and day).

Top Notes

Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Lemon, Mandarin, Ylang-Ylang

Middle Notes

Floral Notes, Fruity Notes, Lotus Wood, Orchid

Base Notes

Chocolate, Incense, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Vetiver

This luxurious fragrance opens with a kick of bold blackcurrant, bergamot and citruses giving us a dark invigorating twist, and dries down with a dominant incense and with a mix of floral notes, chocolate, vanilla and amber.

It is a perfect fragrance to spritz on for special occasions, in colder weather. It gives me a mental trip to a night out or dinner. So, yeah, this is a cold weather fragrance, with attitude. 

Last, but not least, I feel like Black Orchid is something that peeps either love or… don’t love. And I totally get it.

As for me, yes, it is pricey, but my love for this fragrance knows no bounds.
